Psalm 150
1 Praise the LORD
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD .
Praise the LORD .
Yep, that David, making an ass of himself....
Am I a bad person if that made me laugh? : )
The reason applause in church was not done was that it was approbation for the performer and not for the Lord. That was deemed as somewhat counter to worship
Now, forgive me while I go grab my tambourine.
That is David's personal desire for expressing thanks to God, not the congregation doing all that in corporate worship!
BTW, you seem to have an inability to use critical thinking skills, to realize that the NT dispensation of God's covenant of grace (and our worship of Him) is different from the OT. The NT no longer is centered around outward expressions, but internal expressions of Spirit-led worship according to God's Biblical guidelines.
