Every high rise today has sprinklers..they're all been retrofitted..you couldn't get a Cof O, or insurance..or tenants today without it..
This is an "older building" don't know the age at this time.
Last year, the Cook County Building fire took place and I think 6 or 9 people died.
There were NO sprinklers in that building at the time.
I think the law allows some buildings to exist with no sprinklers in this City.
Since the Cook County building fire, ALL buildings in Chicago have been required to provide electronic blue prints to the CFD so they can properly map each floor and when people call in, what the exact locations are...

There are plenty of high rises without sprinklers all over the country.
If this building had working sprinklers this would never have gotten this large.
Chicago's ordinance exempts office buildings erected prior to 1975. That's why the County bulding (where I work) burned.
No way there are sprinklers in the area we are viewing. They would not have allowed the fire to spread and it would now be out. Also we would seee steam coming fform the windows.
10 years in the paid fire service.
