My parents' generation was represented by Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, John Wayne ...

My generation, sadly, is represented by this.

I personally like Zellwegger. Kinda reminds me of the innocent girl next door that is obtainable. Especially when she does that little smirk. The skinny supermodels do nothing for me along with that stupid sleezy whore paris hilton.

I don't know if it's worse or not, but everything in Society has changed, so of course what's acceptable for celebrities has changed as well.

I particularly loved her in SABRINA and ROMAN HOLIDAY.

If you like Renee (Who I really don't like too much), do yourself a favor and rent a movie called "THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD." I saw it by accident on cable a few weeks ago and it was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time and she was very, very good in it. Based on a true story about Pulp Fiction writer John Howard (Think that was his name). A most underrated film with an incredible Oscar caliber performance by the crazy guy Vincent D'Onofrio. Really, worth the rental, I guarantee it.

I don't know, out of all the lovely actresses of that era, to pick Barbara Eden was just kinda funny, that's all!

You may also recall that he's a sodomite who openly flaunts his perversion. And he has bad hair plugs.

The first time I saw Vera Ellen was when I was in puberty and with a group of people watching "On The Town." I remember she did some dance number. I could not stand up for 40 minutes.

I think the difference is that in past there would entertainers, actors, singers, etc. who were actually normal, admirable people.

For example, Bing Crosby, Heston, James Stewart, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelley, Bob Hope, etc. The number who fit that description seems to declined
dramatically.

Also, a lot of people in Hollywood in the 40's and 50's were communists and/or had weird private lives. We just didn't know about it or they and the studio's kept in hidden.

JFK was sleeping with Gangster Molls in the white house. But we didn't hear about till 15 years after his death. Compare that with Clinton.

Eden has always been heart-stoppingly beautiful.

Wow.

She's still pretty. I saw her on Larry King, and was surprised how intelligent and funny she is. Too bad she's had a lot of tragedy in her private life.

I'm not really disagreeing, just the premise of this thread was that "our celebrities are better than your celebrities" and I thought it was kind of stupid. But I must be REALLY dumb because I'm still on this thread!!!! :)

A gentleman cannot reveal his age. Maybe because she looks like the illegitimate daughter of Grace Slick and Bush's nephew. Tries to hard to look sultry.
