AIDS rate for homosexuals climbs; data called 'astonishing'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--New statistics showing that homosexual men make up 44 percent of all new HIV and AIDS cases underscore the fact that homosexuality itself is unnatural, a prominent leader in the ex-homosexual community says.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data Dec. 2 showing that the number of newly diagnosed HIV and AIDS cases has increased 11 percent among homosexual men. The data spanned a four-year period ending in 2003.
Despite the fact that homosexual men make up only 1 to 2 percent of the population, they nonetheless made up more than 40 percent of the new cases, the data showed.
Tim Wilkins, head of Cross Ministry, Inc. -- a Christian outreach to homosexuals -- called the data "astonishing."
"If homosexuality was normal and natural, you would not have a disease that spreads as ravenously as this does," said Wilkins, who is married now but once was involved in homosexuality.
Homosexual activists responded to the news by calling for better education and prevention -- for instance, the promotion of condom usage. But Wilkins said the problem can be found in homosexual sex itself. Men were not made to have sex with men, he said.
"All of mankind is physiologically heterosexual -- that's just a fact," Wilkins said. "One hundred percent of the homosexual community is physiologically heterosexual.
"We can throw more and more money, bigger budgets, bigger programs, more education [at the problem]. And we see that education is not correcting the problem at all."
For years, studies have shown that homosexual men are prone to promiscuity. A University of Chicago study released in 2003 found that 61 percent of homosexuals in Chicago’s Shoreland area had more than 30 sexual partners. Perhaps just as telling, some two-thirds of same-sex "marriages" in Massachusetts have involved lesbians -- underscoring, pro-family leaders say, the notion that homosexual men are less prone to commitment.
"[The CDC] statistic obviously shows a pathology that indicates an abnormality," Wilkins said. "From a Christian perspective we would call it sin."
Such statistics should result in the scientific community re-evaluating its position on homosexuality, Wilkins said.
The Christian church, though, should not respond by saying, "I told you so," Wilkins said. Instead, the church should respond with compassion.
"We can't allow sin in any form to repulse us from reaching out to people who are hurting," he said. "As horrible as AIDS is, it can be -- and I believe it is -- an opportunity for the church to reach people who are broken."

This isn't surprising but I can't understand why none of this seems to sink in to the liberals.
Just last week some libs were attacking a school for advocating ABSTINENCE-- oh my goodness, what is this world coming to when teenagers are told of all things, WAIT!!
You have Bono and other do gooder screaming for more funding for AIDS in Africa, when the population here in the USA is just as bad.
And the libs want GAY MARRIAGE---how would a gay parent tell a child of theirs to abstain when the whole gay culture centers around multiple partners?
I may not be making sense, but abstinence and the threat of being thrown out of school, and sent to a "home for unwed mothers" was a good enough deterent for me. Maybe we should threaten the gays that insist on spreading this disease with deportation to a more AIDS friendly country.
A general principle actually governs the transmission of AIDS: it occurs in the course of violating the natural ecology of body systems.
Anal intercourse does this by introducing semen to a tissue which functions to absorb nutrients and water;
IV needle use does this by breaking the skin's natural boundary between the interior of the body and the outside world.
Various heterosexual practices which enable contact between semen and the circulatory system, infecting the blood, are common in Africa ("dry sex, raping children with the accompanying tissue damage and the problem of female genital mutilation creating abnormalities in the genitalia which can tear under stress.
Other sex practices where there are open lesions, as with concurrent STD's.
Transfusions also fit, although the risk can be and is minimized by the highly controlled conditions--nevertheless, it is a violation of the body's ecology to introduce alien blood fluids.
This is the underlying physiological basis for concluding which sexual practices are "natural" and which are not.
I guess Baptists are uninformed dolts that don't read or watch the news? I am not a Baptist but I don't think that remark was necessary.

When has a contagious deadly disease ever been stopped by merely extending the life span of those infected, while leaving voluntary all measures to control those infected from infecting others? Could anyone think of any?

If they would quit looking for a cure we wouldn't have to worry about ammending the Constitution and gay marriage.
Save a lot of money and cure the problem.
We should remember, that in Africa, AIDS is a heterosexual disease. The men visit prosititutes, and may infect the prostitute or be infected by the prostitute. The prostitute will then go on to infect her other clients
The big problem is promiscuity. The gay community has been very promisicuous, but so have a lot of heterosexuals. There have been an increasing number of AIDS cases among the heterosexual community. It is too easy to write off AIDS as just being a gay disease. Any promiscuity increases the risk of contracting AIDS, plus a large number of other diseases.
It's an allusion to a famous remark by a Democrat about Nixon, and targets social self-segregation and groupthink rather than any particular group.
1-2%? The way politicians and the media bow down to the gays, I would have guessed they were at least 40%. What other 2% demographic gets this kind of attention? Gun owners? Pro-lifers? ...........
Well duh? You got me there---I'm sorry, I read it twice but I read it literally. I apologize and yes it was necessary, I stand corrected.
Absolutely correct. There are even websites out there where you can decide to receive a "gift" of AIDs from an infected freak. Plain and simple these types are looking to kill themselves. If they'd get their emotional problems fixed up, they'd find they wouldn't need to be homosexuals anymore, nor would they want to take their own lives.
The NYT and mainstream media will fix this, pronto. They will begin a tattoo of articles about increasing AIDS cases among normal people, females, whites, anything to draw the stigma away from fairies. They'll fix, not to worry.
Much of that is probably due to the erroneous assumption that once infected, all they'll have to do is take "anti-AIDS cocktails".
