Importation of agriculture has just about superseded exportation. Much of it is contaminated like the strawberries that caused several children to die of ecoli. It's not just Avocados from Mexico that are a problem but Asparagus from Mexico, apples from China and raisins from Turkey. Environmentalists are driving our farmers out of business. The only ones who can afford to compete with the third world is big agribusiness. Until we get rid of the environmental protection racket nothing will change.
