I almost forgot about that...something like he couldn't believe there hasn't been another attack?? And then, Rumsfeld coming out with his statements about the borders where terrorists could as easily pass as drugs while Bush was in Latin America. Interesting.
He wanted to leave the Cabinet; in fact, he never wanted in it that badly (Bush had to insist he wanted him), and he told A. Card he was leaving, last year, to which Card replied that Bush really needed him to serve out.
I also heard his food supply warning. Not saying this isn't on his mind, but he said it only in reply to a reporter's question. It did not seem like a planned shot across anyone's bow. I thought he had had a brain fart, to tell you the truth. It almost seemed like he forgot who he was, where he was, and that the whole world was listening.
It was weird.
