There's another one now also.
AND another FReeper who is joining us.
:)
Please see your pings.
Are we attracting a following?
And here I thought we were so discreet. LOL.
"Clicking OK when LiveUpdate asks her if it's okay to get online and update her virus definitions is "too complicated" for a woman who built and ran a library from the ground up."
I believe you can set it to just do the update and not bother to ask her permission...
Some of us have been engaging in "rating" vanities, just for fun. You can only get "in trouble" for posting vanities if it's something you do all the time. The "trouble" usually just results in having the thread pulled by mod. Too many, however, and you'll be reprimanded for them. Continue on - and you'll be banned for the behavior. But in general, proper "FRettiquete" would lead you to post about 1-2 vanities/year - if at all.
As for the email - there is so much trash on the internet, I recommend you tell your mom to set up a junkmail file and have everything go there - unless it's from you, of course!
I prolly never should have explained it - but johniegrad asked. I didn't think I could ignore him/her - or otherwise skirt the question!
I'm happy to have others join us.
Maybe the "violators" will get our message.
Do you carry your garbage in to work every day too?
I always go to the real site via typing url into web browser and notify the company.
Usually, the email address for that is spoof@whatevercompany.com.
Did a quick search on three anti-virus sites (mcafee.com; f-secure.com; symantec.com) and didn't come up with any hits on "bhopal". For what it's worth.
Normans? Or Nortons?
Norman security. Seems to work okay.
No, not everyday, I only generate one bag a week.
I hate plumbing repairs and I think an out of work plumber invented the garbage disposal.
BHO = Browser Helper Object
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/bho/
BHOs are not picked up by a virus scan. She probably needs to download hijackthis and have someone competent helper select which items to remove.
helper = help her
duh
It's fun to take one of those frozen bags to put behind the bosses door, (opens up against the wall and he never closes it except as he's leaving.) Best done on Friday.
Chong Lee is a very common name in S. Africa. The Johannesburg phone book is full of Chong Lees.
Thanks, good idea.
I'm real close too. The chemical is methylisocyanate (MIC).
Not so discrete that I didn't get a sniff.
