The i-unit, which resembles a wheelchair, is designed to help people get around. It will be displayed at an exposition in Aichi, central Japan, next year. (AP Photo/Shuji Kajiyama)

The compact sized vehicle, which runs on lithium-ion batteries, enables the passenger to move among other people in an upright position in low speed mode, while the vehicle reclines in high speed mode to lower the centre of gravity and ensure stable handling, the company said.

Mount guns on them and send them to Iraq.

I don't think these sci-fi thingys would get along very well with sand.

Why am I reminded of the colossal flop, the "Segway", which breathless reporting and hype tried to tell us it was the greatest thing since the invention of the automobile?

Her outfit is sort of a cross between Star Trek and the Easter Bunny. At least the original Star Trek series knew how to dress women.
