President Bush and First Lady Laura spent the evening at the Pageant of Peace and lit the National Christmas tree. Earlier in the day, the First Lady gave photographers a tour of the decorations at the White House. Also earlier, the President announced the cabinet appointment of Nebraska Governor Mike Johanns as Sec. of agriculture. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!
QUOTE OF THE DAY: This Christmas, as loved ones come together, some in our military are separated from family by the call of duty a long way from home. We have servicemen and women celebrating the holidays at bases from Europe to East Asia, and on many fronts in the war on terror. Especially for those deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq, the work is dangerous and the mission is urgent. American servicemen and women are bringing freedom to many and peace to future generations. Their sacrifices defend us all, and all Americans are grateful to them and to our military families.
Late PING! I fell asleep watching TV and woke up after midnight!
President Bush also met with Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
I remember twelve years ago, I was a freshman in high school and President Bush had just lost to the scumbag Clinton. Anyway, I remember watching the Christmas pagentry at the White House and remembered thinking, "Wow the Bushes are handling this with real class..."
Nice pics, Thank you
LOL!
Good morning
I watched the last part of the Christmas lighting on CSpan yesterday, and the best part was at the end, watching our President thank the participants. He was having such a good time you could tell he wanted to stay and hang out, but he had to leave so everyone else in the crowd could.
It just made my day. I gee such a kick out of the exuberance and kindness of this man. Another day I sent up a heartfelt "thank you" that George W. Bush is our President.
Enjoy the day!
Good morning
thanks for the ping
Great pictures!
Hello rintense..this is a pleasant surprise for me! This is about the only time of day I am able to come to the thread lately. :) Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.
Morning, rintense. My favorite may be Laura Bush chatting with Santa, although the pictures with the two Brownies are in the running as well.
You said it! God Bless you Mr. President!
Good morning! Whaat a great way to start the day. I'm reminded of Nancy Reagan telling Lara, after the 2000 election, something like "Thank goodness, class has returned to the White House". So true.
Wow! I wondered what happened last night, but hey, you probably needed the rest. And thank you for doing this...they seemed to so enjoy those moments, didn't they?!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the ping - Laura looks fab. I only wish I were half as photogenic.
Good morning! I fall asleep to if I watch TV Great pictures as always
