Do you expect employees to adhere to policies set forth by their employers?

Sorry about this. My answer is, unfortunetly, both tedius, obvious, and pedestrian, and I think you will find it does not help your argument.

The short answer is sometimes. The long explination is that sometimes an employee does not follow policies. Usually this means the employee is out of line, but some times it means the policy is out of line. In both cases out of line can be in the context of cultural morality, religious morality, social morality, lawful morality, or some other standard.

This all brings us back to where we started, which is whther or not the policy or employee was out of line in this case.

Any other tedius journeys of explaining the obvious will make bears (who have code to write, and shouldn't really be looking back on this thread, excepting they can't help themselves) even more patronizing.

"The short answer is sometimes."

If an individual does not wish to adhere to the policies set forth by an employer, that individual should find employment elsewhere. At least, that is what conservative grown ups do. Liberal whiners tend to expect the employer to bend to their wishes.

So, it would seem that you are sometimes a liberal whiner.
