No, she was stating something spouted off by Mel Gibson, hardly a bastion of biological knowledge.

That said, she did NOT deserve to be fired.

Why the rush to an emotionally charged "appeal to authority" falacy? Shirley you know the validity of the statemnt is independent of who "spouted" it "off". (And YES, I just called you "Shirley". ha ha ha).
