Hillary's "village" bears no resemblance to a society of free independent citizens standing up and speaking up. Hillary and the left wing "progressives" she rules want only their truth to be allowed.

You don't seem to appreciate liberal teachers sharing their views. Do they have the Constitutional right to share their garbage or not?

I confess that I am impressed that your 14 year old can handle Joyce..the stream of consciousness is the easy part...but Molly's "stream and priests"..hmmm.

As for the rest of your statement --- it is rather an absurd and elitist juxtaposition of the bus driver's warnings and Mel Gibson. You can do better than that...

Leave my kids out of it...Seriously, what does motherhood have to do with this discussion? Hmmm.

Motherhood has everything to do with this discussion. Why do you think the parents complained about the bus driver?

Would you have wanted someone discussing embryonic stem cell research with your 7 or 8 year old child?

I would not have. I cherished the years when my children were young and innocent enough not to know that some adults were evil enough to want to murder their own babies, which is where a discussion of embryonic stem cell research would eventually lead.

What would all of us be saying though if the bus driver had been telling the children how great abortion is? We would be just as upset. I don't think she should be fired but warned about expressing her views since she is not a teacher. I wouldn't want my postman or bus driver telling my children about his views on life whether they are liberal, religious or any other controversial things.

This (the outcry of those hoping to keep the truth buried so they may spread their own agenda-laden bias) is partially why I'm giving away the this book to any wanting more information about stem cells, cloning, etc. My only request is that those downloading it share it with their Pastor or Priest, the warriors who will need to understand the science better in order to wage the spiritual battles in the field.

What is wrong with her opinion? When I need to know why my mail keeps getting lost I call a geneticist.

When I am sick I usually call the local butcher.

When I am i legal trouble I do not consult an attorney but instead call the guy at the auto detailing shop.

You are unable or do not want to understand what I have posted. You seem to caught up in a vicious cycle of anti moral values conservative thought. And even more puzzling, a naive? or deliberate misunderstading of what is going on in mnay public schools.

Once more: We all have a right to express our views although the courts have been rather vague at times about the extent of that in the public schools. In fact, the curriculum taught in preschool through college is designed by humanists and based on a post modern secularist version of history and science. Instead of the rigor of academics, the educational institutions focus on programing and conditioning students (with that programing later reinforced in the home via television and books)with mushy modern math, PC history, and Evolution as fact. Public schools have become places where the school system (and parent education and support services) is designed to directly undermine parents' authority and destroy the natural child-parent relationship.

Apparently none of this has reached you. Let me know when you confront it for the first time. There are suport systems out here.

God Bless the bus driver with the fortitude to tackle these inhuman forces.

So only teachers should have the right to present their views?

But you know...we've been over this already...read the preceding postings.

"Why do you think the parents complained about the bus driver?"

I do not know and neither do you. Kindly refrain from making assumtions without knowing all the facts.

Since all the facts are not known, the bus driver should not have been fired. Simple enough no? (probably not)

Apparently the bus driver was discussing subjects the parents felt were inappropriate, with the very young students.

If you discuss inappropriate subjects with my children, I think that is undermining my authority, and I will complain - as these parents did.

I think the school board acted appropriately in disciplining the bus driver. Perhaps they went overboard, but they did so in support of a conservative value you claim to support - that of parental authority.

Yes.

Nope...don't buy it.

Nope...don't buy it.

Then perhaps you should take your advice from post 312 and refrain from making assumptions until you have all the facts.

Are you a mind reader? Do you have a reason to believe that the bus driver was fired for any reason other than the one given?

She showed very poor judgement in choosing to discuss that issue with very young children. If you choose to see this as a free speech issue, without realizing that young children are not the same as older children or adults, I really don't know what else to say to you.

Saying so a million times does not and will never make it so.

"I really don't know what else to say to you."

You really don't, I agree.

"I don't think she should be fired but warned about expressing her views since she is not a teacher."

I would much rather have a bus driver sharing their views than a teacher. Teachers should keep their views completely out of the classroom, especially since most of them are not competent to speak on anything beyond babysitting.
