The NY Family Research Foundation has on its site a link to Dr. Laura's
Educational Opt-Out Form. If instead of complaining about you, the kids on your bus had brought you this, or something similar, signed by parents, would you have followed those parent's wishes?

Mrs Mayor....
Casualties of the Culture War by Julianne Thompson
This was very well written and inspirational. Most likely it is better written than what the Principal could do.
It has been my experience with "authority" that they quite often feel intelligence stops inside their offices or classrooms. You "think," therefore, you are much too intelligent to be a school bus driver.
Sure hope you get on O'Reilly. It would be fun to see your intelligence shine through the bigoted and simple-mindedness of the Grand Island School District.

Sooooooo, I'm not allowed to provide scientific facts to students, why? O, because I was just a lowly bus driver? I'm sorry, I just still don't get it. It's more than a scientific fact, it's a political issue. And letting children have a childhood isn't dumbing down the education system. There are other things they should be learning at that age. Politics isn't one of them.

I wonder if she would've been fired had she said something in support of embyronic stem cell "research"? Recruited by the DNC, more likely. :-)

Right thinking social conservatives don't have to comply with the ridiculous leftist rules that try to stifle truth. If what I'm saying is correct, then who can stop me from speaking? You and your limp-wristed libertine friends? I don't think so.

As I said to the GITD, it's a social, moral and cultural issue. The only reason you call it a political issue is because the political candidates (& the red and blue people) disagree.
I'm going now. Good night. Don't forget to say your prayers.

Just because it's not something you would choose to do, doesn't make it wrong for me -- educating people with facts, is simply my nature. And it's fine for you to do that, with your own children.

It is obvious why you have run into trouble. Look in your mirror to see why.

As long as the information being given to the children is God's truth, then what's the harm? If they aren't being taught the truth at home then someone needs to take up the slack. You should be thanking this lady instead of criticizing her noble effort.

Thank you for the kind words, Jul has said that she doesn't think she would do well on the talking heards.
She said I would be much better because I am quicker with responses.I think I have to stay calm, sometimes that's not easy especially with dorks like begala or banjo boy.
She just went to pick our son from work. I'll send her to your post.
See ya

As long as the information being given to the children is God's truth, then what's the harm? I agree with what she is saying. I disagree in how it was done. The harm is that we live in a nation of laws. If we fail to obey it, even if for a noble cause, then we must be prepared to pay the consequences. As I and others have said, if we allow her to teach what she wants to teach on the bus, then we must allow others who want to teach something legal like abortion equal access.

If they aren't being taught the truth at home then someone needs to take up the slack. Several thousand leftist NEA members would agree, with a somewhat different definition of "truth".

Wow you're in the thick of it now...
BTW, ain't it a shame that nowadays adults cannot impart any educational truths to children?
I like your wife's comments on giving the children "factoids". That's what adults are for! But, the school doesn't want anyone interfering with their indoctrination schedule.

Suppose My Wife, an attorney and major Liberal Democrat were to start driving a school bus as a second job.
Being a Liberal she might tell the kids about how she is pro-choice and that they and their parents should be pro-choice. While she is at it she may also cite an article that claims that fetal stem cell research shows great promise.
I would think that if she did those she would be fired, as she should be.
Would you support my wife being fired or should any school bus driver be able to spout any political or religious opinions they have?
