Attorney General Nominee Alberto Gonzales and the La Raza (the "race") Connection - ping.
(Surely President Bush had better council than to allow something like this.)

And Tully points out that the phrase "la raza" means "the race" for a reason.
"To take it in context, would you be concerned if there a white nominee who had been involved with the Ku Klux Klan or some other white supremacist-type of group?" she asks.

Now the Washington, DC-based Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is calling Gonzales to task for his reported involvement with the National Council of La Raza, which has endorsed his nomination for attorney general. They refer to "his reported involvement with" La Raza, but where is the beef? Nothing to bite into here. I don't see it in this article.
We shall see.

La Raza is like another Mexican gang and we have plenty of those around here. I don't like this either.
