FAQ

We are ordinary Americans who are concerned about what is happening to our country and constitution. Prior to this last election we had not been politically involved beyond voting. Following the November, 2004 elections we felt powerless when the small margin of victory was claimed as a large mandate by the Republican White House, Senate, and House of Representatives. We wanted to have our voices heard, and felt that one way of doing that was to direct our spending towards companies who support candidates and issues in which we believe. Many of our friends thought this a great idea and we started building ChooseTheBlue.com. Our research has highlighted to us the stunning amount of money that corporations donated this election cycle. It has been fascinating to trace donations and to learn what products belong to which companies. Our goal is to provide people with information about political donations so they can make informed choices about where to shop. We believe that we can make a difference by adjusting our spending.

It has a quite complete list of which companies donated to Republicans or to Democrats, by category (entertaining, automotive, financial, etc.) Interestingly, they have NewCorp (parent of FoxNews) 68% to Dems. They claim that the numbers were from taken from information in the public domain, including data from the Federal Election Commission records (FEC.gov) and the Center for Responsible Politics.

Isn't it funny how they sneer at Republicans for launching boycotts.

The left's hypocrisy and elitism is sickening.

There was an item on "The Grapevine" last night on Brit Hume's show about how the "MoveOn.org" ninnies are contemplating their next move now that Bush has been reelected. One suggestion is that they all stop buying things as a means of bringing down the US economy. Frankly, I hope they follow this option, and that they include food on the list of things they refuse to buy.

" we felt powerless when the small margin of victory was claimed as a large mandate by the Republican White House,"

And if the democrats had won with the same margin we would be hearing about how it was in numbers comparable to the population of some entire states.

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but didn't a lot of people get into a snit over fans boycotting The Ditsy Chicks?

We can't boycott them, but they can boycott all they like.

At this point, it looks like the democrat plan is to emigrate to foreign countries, secede from the union, demand endless and pointless recounts and stop buying things. Great! I fully support them in these endeavors.

the small margin of victory was claimed as a large mandate

JFK beat Nixon by a much slimmer margin. Does that mean "Camelot" had no mandate. Seems to me JFK is supposed to be some kind of Liberal demigod.
