I think Target and Mervyns are owned by Dayton-Hudson...
I think Dayton Hudson also owns Marshall Fields...but they
may have spun them off recently not sure...anyone know?
I say 99 cent store or bust!
Target is starting to get a bit expensive anyway....
Mervyns....not bad, but same products can be had at
other stores....no compelling reason to go there...

Does Chicken Little Sen. Dayton (D Minn) still have any ties to Dayton-Hudson? I know that they are part of his family history but I'm not sure if there is any current relationship with the leftest wacko.

You're right about Dayton Hudson owning both. Worked at a major sportswear company here in the NW for a number of years (NOT Nike), and all the purchase orders, etc., were Dayton Hudson. Plus, I had to comply with Letters of Credit from Target (talk about a FREAKING NIGHTMARE), and it's all under the Dayton Hudson banner.

Yes, you're right. Marshall Fields was sold to May Department Stores -- the same company that owns Lord & Taylor, Filene's, etc.
