CLEVELAND (AP) -- Ohio counties finished certifying votes in the presidential race Wednesday, and the results showed that election officials accepted about 77 percent of the provisional ballots that were cast.
Ohio's 88 counties reported validating 121,598 provisional ballots from 156,977 checked, according to an Associated Press tabulation. The deadline for counties to certify election results was Wednesday.
Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell plans to certify the final result Monday.
President Bush's margin of victory against John Kerry on Nov. 2 was 136,483 votes. Kerry conceded after figuring he would not get enough of the provisional ballot vote to overtake Bush's total.
Provisional ballots are used when poll workers cannot immediately confirm if a voter was properly registered.
Carlo LoParo, a spokesman for Blackwell's office, said there will be no available breakdown of how many provisionals went to Bush or Kerry. He said the final tally will be inclusive of all votes.
Meanwhile, a lawyer representing at least 25 voters who feel their right to vote was violated said he would file a lawsuit Thursday directly to the Ohio Supreme Court. Cliff Arnebeck said the case will seek to document that election abuses in Ohio were widespread.

Memo to Cliff: This isn't Florida. We have a Law-abiding Supreme Court in Ohio. Enjoy your fifteen minutes, if it even lasts that long.

What would be hilarious to watch is for Blackwell to certify next Friday and watch the Dims try and recount in half a day..

Too bad Brokaw retired yesterday. He won't get the honor of calling Ohio for Bush. /sarcasm off

New target acquired; Republican Electors.
Friends,
I propose that we need to prepare lists of all Republican electors in the nation for the purpose of contacting them directly to convince them to change their vote to Kerry.
We'd need; Name, home address, phone number, FAX number, and email address for as many Republican electors as we can find.
We should also prepare contact materials so that people will have an idea of what arguments might work with a Republican. I think we should impress upon them that their future safety depends on a Kerry victory, as Bush has mismanaged things to the point of making us all less safe daily.

The Greens and Libertarians are suing for a recount but Bush won by at least 130,000 votes and the margin of loss for a recount is one quarter of 1 percent so it looks like NO RECOUNT in OHIO!!

Total Votes 3,634,234
Between Bush and Kerry stand 348,539 votes cast! Logic tell you that many votes cannot be found in a recount!
I love the fact that the Secy of State is not going to
itemize the provisionals. Let 'em pay to see for themselves!

Actually Brokaw did get to project Ohio for Bush early on the morning of Nov 3, when NBC joined Fox in calling the state. I will never forget his words: "This race is essentially over" as NBC gave Ohio to Bush. :) At that point he had 269 electorals.
