WASHINGTON - US President George W. Bush will meet Jordan's King Abdullah on Monday in Washington to discuss Middle East developments and bilateral issues, the White House announced.
"The President looks forward to the opportunity to review regional and bilateral issues with the King of Jordan, who plays a key role in the search for stability in Iraq and for Middle East peace, and has been a staunch ally in the international fight against terrorism," the White House press secretary said in a statement released Wednesday.
Among the issues that are likely to top the agenda are January's Palestinian elections, Israel's planned withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and Iraq.
Also, speaking in Halifax, Nova Scotia Wednesday, President Bush, remarked on how to best help facilitate an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, described building a Palestinian democracy as the "heart of the matter."
He invited Canada to "take a broader role in the quest for peace and democracy in the Middle East," and reiterated the goal of a "viable, independent and democratic state for the Palestinian people."
"Achieving peace in the Holy Land is not just a matter of pressuring one side or the other on the shape of a border or the site of a settlement. This approach has been tried before without success. As we negotiate the details of peace, we must look to the heart of the matter, which is the need for a Palestinian democracy," Bush said.
Excuse me? What the hell is that supposed to mean?
I only posted the pictures because you guys seem to enjoy looking at beautiful women.
I made no policital statement based on her looks. She is not your average arab woman. That's all.
What was the reason for the hateful remark?
You're threshhold for "hate" is evidently quite low. In such matters the head is better used than the heart.
Explain the remark you made. Why don't you explain what you meant by that?
However, in that that will never happen, give them the Gaza (which was never part of Eretz Yisrael), with however much of the Sinai Egypt will give them (None).
Now, if that's "hate" to you, so be it. Though your threshhold seems rather low, but that's your problem.
In any case, No Arab state in Eretz Yisrael. EVER!
Don't forget that about a year ago, the King and his entire government were the target of a large chemical attack, courtesy of Zaraqwari.
Fortunately they were able to stop it in time.
As far as arab leaders go, these two are our best help.
They are even the first arab nation to offer to participate in Iraq. They offered to send troops, but Allawi asked them to train their forces instead.
Which they have been doing for quite awhile now. Quite effectively I have heard. I read an article just recently about it.
I also believe that Jordan was the first arab nation of recoginize Iraq's new government and sovereignty.
Now as far as a Palestinian State goes, our own leaders are for a Palestinian state also.
You and I would prefer to blast Palestinians off the planet, but we also know that is not possible.
Why bash our closest allies in the middle ease, just because she is Palestinian by birth? (By the way she was born in Kuwait I believe and educated in American Schools.) She did live for some time in the West Bank though, but when she did, she lived in an affluent area and worked.
Her parents send her to two colleges instead of strapping a bomb belt on her. She was an advertising executive for Citibank and Apple computers.
The King was in the British army. He is college educated as well.
He dons disguises so he can see how his people really are doing and thinking.
They Queen and King both support giving money to help entrepreneurs and boost the economy.
They have a benovelent government, not a cruel sadistic government like some in the middle east. In this way, he is much like his father.
They have much in common with us.
Oh and the "hate" I was referring to was the hateful way you addressed me in your post.
I never suggested you had any hatred toward the King and Queen. But you did seem a liitle hateful towards me.
Or at the very least, like you thought I was a moron.
I can also add that King Abdullah guest starred on an episode of Star Trek The Next Generation. He's not a crazy fundamentalist Muslim monarch. He is very westernized(His own mother is British)He has also been a devoted arab ally in the war on terror which, I am sure, puts his own life in danger.
Thanks for that information. I didn't know either of those things.
I personally think we should involved King Abullah more in the process. Maybe we do I guess. He does spent a lot of time with the President.
I trust King Abdullah much more than I would trust Putin of Russia.
Me too.
Queen Raina is my IDEAL WOMAN! Some guys have all the luck...
She is beautiful, no doubt about it. Did you see the pictures I posted on this thread just for you guys?
Thank you.
