They have it planned in the ballroom of a nice hotel in DC, 175$$ per person. I live less than 30 minutes from DC, and was wondering if anyone had any plans to 'freep' the freepers.
My wife loves to dance and was delighted to hear about this Inaugural Ball. I'll tell you a secret about her: In her college years she was an intern at National Review. She laughs now to recall Bill Buckley predicting that she would turn into a liberal -- wrong!
TG, FWIW I'll just be wearing my regular coat over whatever I decide to dress in for the ball. No space in suitcases to pack extra coat for just that night and in Chicago nobody that I know pays attention to outerwear at dressy events.

BTTT!!!!!!!
Thanks for the ping.
I loved the last one, but I am not planning on this one. I'm saving myself for CPAC.
There was a hotel, I believe in Alexandria, that lots of folks stayed at last time. It was right next to a metro stop. Would you know the name?
We booked at the Resident's Inn at Downtown Bethesda. It was $170 for two nights with two queen sized beds. It is also close to the metro line.
I would be careful in what one wishes for.
Great job! Congratulations to the committee.
Hi Jen
My 5 year old niece and I will be there. MamaBear made reservations at the Comfort Inn in Alexandria in October. We've had our plane tickets since October .... we didn't want to take any chance on missing this.
Sure hope to see you there.
The "FREE REPUBLIC W2 INAUGURAL BALL" will include a free coat check so just about no one will even see your coat. Wear whatever coat you want.
If you happen to have a long fur coat, sure, this is an chance to wear it. (Seems like every Inauguration someone leaves a fur on the subway.) But most people just wear their everyday coats.
It might be rainy. On the other hand, one of Reagan's Inaugurations was so cold the parade was CANCELLED and everything moved inside.
Dress for the weather. If the weather is really bad, wear boots and carry nice (but COMFORTABLE) shoes.
I'm in (1085)! My frau and I are looking forward to a great time. I'll be in dress blues and my wife in black.
I live in Northern VA so any military-types with questions about getting around in DC "soldier style" drop me a line.
I'm a fairly new freeper so please someone clue me in on the pre and post parties!
See you there!
Sore losers. Sheesh.
That was the Holiday Inn on Eisenhower Avenue. It's right next to a Metro station.
Thanks.
what if we wear shorts, a thong AND vulgar t-shirt... and cowboy boots?
Thanks for the advice! I feel better now :-)
perhaps I can ask Governor Huckabee about what he plans to do about Mena.
Big Ball ~ Bump!
