Brokaw Says Goodbye, Chokes Up on 'Today'
Associated Press
NEW YORK - Tom Brokaw struggled to maintain his composure on NBC's "Today" show Wednesday morning, as he was being toasted by his staff on his last day as "NBC Nightly News" anchor.
"It's been a great, great ... privilege," Brokaw said before becoming visibly overcome with emotion. "I didn't think I was going to do that."
Hosts Katie Couric and Matt Lauer clinked champagne flutes with Brokaw, as he was surrounded by several staff members.
Brokaw, 64, served as anchor of "NBC Nightly News" since 1983.

I remember Tom Brokaw on WSB-TV in Atlanta, when I was a kid.
Won't miss him.

Tom Brokaw has to thank God for Dan Rather, the only man that could make him look good!

Thread would be better if Brokaw had been choked up like this on TV!

He's still on tonight right? If he's crying now, he's gonna be sobbing at 7. Can't wait to see that.

Here Tom, here's a tissue.
Now, don't let the door smack you on the butt too hard on the way out.
And not to worry, your buddy Dan Blather is on his way to meet you.

I'm choked up, too, crying tears of joy that another liberal is throwing in the hat. :)

Don't let the door smack you in the backside on the way out Tom.

Fire 'em all for drinking on the job AND for promoting drinking on television.

Gads. I'm so sick of these guys who cry like little p*ssies on national television.
Grow up.

Hey Tom - now that you are retired, why don't you act like a real man and take up arms in Iraq? Quit writing books about our brave soldiers from WWII and profiteering from it (thereby placing yourself in the same company as these American heroes).
Get off you ass and fight, you arrogant tool.
