While there's traditionally been a muttered, largely envious sort of anti-Americanism on the fringes of Canadian public life, these days the really rabid, lunatic fringe variety most often emanates from former Americans who've infested Canada since the early 70's when they came here as draft dodgers, military deserters and their assorted camp followers.

While most of this lot are cunning enough to hide or downplay their original homeland, it doesn't take much digging to find them now disproportionally wormed into our educational system at all levels, our media and most other culturally sensitive areas of Canadian public life.

Now, ironically, our same U.S. conservative "friends" who bitch non-stop about every single one of us being anti-American want to see still more of their own home grown socialist rabble joining us. Go Figure!
