I thought we beat the Nazis!
It's all a natural progression: kill one, kill all.

You've got the wording correct--natural evolution sounds so much less alarming. This article is chilling. Who calls the shots, where is the line drawn?

In a public healthcare system, everyone becomes a number, and the weakest and most helpless are increasingly as a liability against the system. And the most helpless (unborn or too young to have any will) become the prey in a morally vacant atheistic culture.
Van Gogh's murder woke people up to their terrorist problem, I hope this wakes up the moral God-fearing people there.

They are halfway down the slide of the slippery slope. Why stop at newborns? What about terminal two and three year olds? What about babies who would live a long life but are disfigured?
Sickening.

Euthanasia opponents view the prospect with horror while advocates call it a natural evolution. The "fools" who believe in a Creator hold that "all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights." One notes by contrast that Darwinian natural selection presumes that all humans evolve unequally, are subject to no moral authority, and are therefore free to duke it out for survival by whatever means they see advantageous.
It would seem that unalienable rights, as endowed by a Creator, is a concept so important that, if there wasn't a Creator we would be best off maintaining whatever pretense necessary that there is.

It's now a small step to the following:
"Mr Smith, we know that you're a smoker and that you consume more than two alcoholic drinks per day. To spare you the misery of cancer and cirrhosis (not to mention the fact that you voted Republican in the last four elections) the State has, in its mercy decided....."

Guess the Nazis were just 50 years behind the times. Somewhere in the pits of hell, Hitler has a reason to smile.

I suspect the pro-choice crowd will start defending this another late-term abortion that is necessary for the health of the mother.

"The announcement last month by the Groningen Academic Hospital came amid a growing discussion in Holland on whether to legalise euthanasia on people incapable of deciding for themselves whether they want to end their lives. Euthanasia opponents view the prospect with horror while advocates call it a natural evolution."
It begins.

...experts acknowledge that doctors euthanise routinely in the United States but that such practice is hidden. "Measures that might marginally extend a child's life by minutes or hours or days or weeks are stopped. This happens routinely, namely, every day,",,,There is a very BIG difference in not prolonging a life and euthanasia.

i think the nazis started with "euthanizing" (a great term) psychiatric patients. i'm surprised no one has put them on the list yet.
i think the ss had mobile gas chamber vans that went around to the psych hospitals.

Life is terminal. Better keep killing till there ain't no more of us around...
I wonder when the Dutch will suggest this "solution" to the AIDS crisis around the world which brings thousands of infected children into the world.

Why don't they just expose the unwanted babies on the mountainside and save themselves some bother? It worked for the ancient Greeks, after all.
Sigh ... seriously, this is heinous. Not least is the fact that they are obviously presenting this so-called "choice" to new parents who are in shock from getting the news that the baby they hoped would be perfect is, instead, either terminal or dreadfully damaged. And they expect them to make a good decision? To realize that there are organizations who will help them carry the burden of a damaged child? It's awful to put the grieving parents in that position. You know they will carry the guilt of the decision until the day they die.

A HOSPITAL in the Netherlands - the first nation to permit euthanasia - recently proposed guidelines for mercy killings of terminally ill newborns, before revealing it had already begun carrying out the procedures. The most horrific aspect to this is that an individual (Doctor) could actually, without lifelong mental discomfort, perform such a deed on a human as innocent as a newborn.
