Used to gripe me too, but I figured if the Mods don't give a crap, why should I? And it's always fun to read the "I, for one, haven't seen this before so I hope it gets posted over and over" comments from the newbie anarchists who probably can't find two socks that match and to whom "bumping" is some cryptic alien art form similar in nature to "defragging".

Even search by date doesn't work as well as it used to...in that it doesn't go as far back (in time) as it had before :-(

I gotta smoke outside when I go over to my Pops or Moms house.
Amazing whether it's 105 or 5 degrees outside.....At least I have company. Looking down his street you see about a dozen other people outside puffing away.

The problem is the keyboard-to-chair interface.

Does The "Search" Function Still Work? Not as well as it used to.
Even in "archive mode", it will only retrieve so many articles.
Try doing a title search on something common, like "Bush".
Heck, I don't pull up any articles older than today, even in "archive mode".
And there's no link to access "next page" or "more".
IMHO, this version of "Search" sucks. I want the old one back.

I have to report you to the spelling police, I think it's supposed to be 'gazillion'

You can see other humans smoking. Me, I live in a rural area. I get to see squirrels and rabbits and such.
The people who live down the road a ways from me, turned their guinea hens loose, now I can watch them peck the ground.

The search does work, some people however especially the newies are to lazy to use the search and check if an article has already been posted or not.

My two cents.
I find that my frustration with dupe posts is directly proportional to the amount of time I have sat at the keys.
On a normal day, I do not notice them. But, some days, if I have freeped way too much, then I do notice them, and get a bit annoyed.
Not doing a search before posting is probably one reason; maybe folks don't know that they should search; maybe they do not know how.
So a suggestion - When we want to alert to a dupe, maybe we could link to the posting guidelines to educate well meaning Freepers who may not be as up to speed as they should be.
Have not looked at the posting guidelines in a while. I assume they are up to date and clear.

You want to know why there is so many repete post, it is because people (like you btw) that refuse to put any keywords to be searched. You have left the keywords section blank for some reason.
All articles need to require the poster to list at least 8 keywords from the article.
Please place some keywords in your vanity. If someone forgets, you (any good standing FR member) can place your own keywords in for them. I do it all the time so I can find articles later.
