Crowd control, flash mobs, we thought the election cycle was going to be a whole bunch of call-ups. Happily, the DNC-promised riots across the land never happened.

Except for the carte blanch part, I'd presume there are a few guys perched above Parliament in exactly the position you are dreaming of.
Naaaah ... they'll blame Bush. Probably two or three of the ten protesters that turned up are post election liberals that immigrated to Canada in the last two weeks. They're still seething and threw bottles of spring water at Bush's limo as he drove by.
They're upset that President Bush stole the Canadian election.
I still could have done without his comment, though I'm sure it was merely in jest.
