Kind, species "unto their own kind" like in the Bible. Dogs and wolves are one kind.

I would define that mechanism as God.

So, would lions and tigers be one "kind?" How about lions and house cats?

Are you also saying that God stops a population from further adapting to its environment, resulting in its eventual extinction?
