Great news for allied Poland. European Airbus would like production in Poland. American Boeing production in Poland however will benefit the Polish economy in many more ways: providing tax benefits, making a better ally of America, increasing competition (even beyond that of Boeing and Airbus), improving productivity which can lead to even greater economic gains over time such as the promise of diversification into other areas of production or activities that such a large, highly diversified multinational company can provide. The collective gains from partnership with Boeing far outweigh the detrimental impacts in terms of productivity losses to Poland and opportunity costs that would be an outcome of the albeit unlikely but proposed American visa waiver program.

A nice way to say "Thank you" to our friends in Poland. They have stood firm in supporting us in Iraq (both policy and boots on the ground). Sounds like a great idea.

Great news for Boeing, too. I've heard reports from homebuilding sources that much of aeronautical craftsmanship from former Soviet satellite countries such as Poland is very high quality.

But it rather wouldn't be a big contract. Probably some simple components.
