I grew up just five blocks from Franklin Avenue. Used to ride my bike cross Franklin, onto Hempstead Avenue into Downtown Malverne. There weren't any illegal aliens at the time. I guess I first started noticing them in Hempstead back in the late 80s/early 90s.
