The greatest man in the world died peacefully in his sleep three hours ago in his home in Georgia with his wife of 62 years by his side. My dad was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne in WWII. He fought mightily in the Korean Conflict. He held Silver Stars and numerous awards of the Purple Heart. He was the proud owner of six combat jumps. He was a man of honor, love of country, devotion to family. Our family loved him deeply and our hearts are broken. He wanted to get to the WWII Memorial Dedication more than anything but illness struck him down just days before the scheduled trip. He never recovered until God called him home this morning.
My condolences to you and the family.
My sincerest thanks to your father and my deepest sympathy for your loss.
Thoughts and prayers with you and yours. God rest his soul.
May God welcome the soul of this good man and bring peace to those left behind. I feel such gratitude that this man lived.
Your family will be in my prayers.
You can't ask for much more out of life than that. If we could choose, most of us would want to leave the world just like he did.
Sorry to hear about your dad. May he rest in peace.
Prayerful bump...
Too bad, Amrica needs men like him. My condolences.
Another great man I knew died almost 22 years ago. I still miss him everyday.
Please accept my sincere sympathy. You are a very lucky person to have had such a father and such an obvious loving family. May God bless all of you who grieve for him. I think God has already blessed your father and holds him in his loving arms today.
A ping for a staunch defender of the realm, who has passed. There wouldn't be any freedom left in this world if it weren't for people like him. Thank you!
My condolences to you and your family. Congratulations on having such a fine man for a father.
I'm very happy your father was alive and will be missed by his loved ones.
May God's love and comfort surround you and your family. How wonderful that you could share so many years together with a man who left such an amazing legacy. I'm thankful for his contribution to this country and the freedom we have today.
Regards, CC
May God comfort you. The greatest legacy he left behind was your incredible love and admiration for him as evidenced by your post.
Prayers for you and your family, and my thanks to your father.
God Bless your dad and you. There are no words that can console you now. I pray God will hold you up.
