The above link for Real Player will download via Net Transport. It is around 4665K.
This is the type of foreign correspondent footage I would like to see some evening on Brit Hume's show.

See paragraphs 3, 4 and 5.
Fallujah was a fairly great victory...but just try to guess that from the MSM of the USA.
I only get the audio???
"We have the enemy right where we want him. He's coming to us and we're killing him."
Excellent reporting!
This is the trap the coalition's fallen into in Iraq. You can't beat an insurgency without the support of the local population. But in fighting the insurgency, you have to do things which forfeit that support.
Note that he doesn't say that this is the trap that the coalition might have fallen into, or might fall into, or must avoid falling intono, it's the trap that the coalition has fallen into.
And he doesn't say that the coalition might have to do things which might forfeit the support of the local populationno, he says the coalition does have to do things which do forfeit the support of the local population.
Typical upper class, not-so-subtle-but-oh-so-snotty criticism of the coalition effort, with just a hint of schadenfreude thrown into the mix.
Have a look at this.
I don't see it that way. It's an unavoidable "trap", since it's impossible to deal with insurgents otherwise. He doesn't mean majority of support is forfeited, but you are bound to anger some people no matter what when fighting against people hiding inside mosques etc.
He doesn't mean majority of support is forfeited...
Perhaps he didn't mean majority of support, but that's not what he said. I quoted him word-for-word. He spoke without qualification of forfeiting the support of the local population. Period.
But from other sources we know that many of the civilian residents of Fallujah, before fleeing the fighting, left food and bedding prepared for our soldiers and Marines. And after the fighting died down somewhat, ordinary citizens who appeared on the streets thanked our guys for getting rid of the terrorists and thugs who had essentially held the entire city hostage.
excellent report
Anyway, I was waiting for that minarate(sp) at the end to fall, they cut it out. I felt cheated.
Oh, near the end a Marine planted a black object on the roof and ran. It went off like a firecracker and didn't seem to do anything. What was that?
I'm sure there's a way, but I'm not quite geek enough to know the technique to save it. Maybe someone else can advise?
ya, you're right, but the video and audio coverage is so much better than what we usually get, that we (as tutored intelligentsia) are able to tune out the parts we don't agree with...like listening to CBS..."blah blah.."
they said the 1/8 was the worst attrited in the war so far...?
yo tambien
The correct interpretation is thou shalt not murder; not thou shalt not kill.
Sorry, there was a hole in the roof. The Marine threw a grenade in.
very good footage here.
Excellent! Thank you..
