A Moral Killing in Fallujah

Summary: US Marines in Iraq found the mutilated body of a woman believed to be Margaret Hassan, the British aid worker held hostage by insurgents. Yet it was the video-tape of a US Marine shooting to death a wounded man that he believed threatened his life that became the top story out of Fallujah.

Last week, US Marines in Iraq stormed the hornet's nest of Fallujah and dealt the anti-American insurgency a crushing blow, pacifying the mosques, murder dens and sniper holes used by the enemy to kill Americans and pro-US Iraqi policemen. They also found the mutilated body of a woman believed to be Margaret Hassan, the British aid worker held hostage by insurgents demanding the removal of United Kingdom solders from Iraq. Yet it was the video-tape of a US Marine shooting to death a wounded man that he believed threatened his life that became the top story out of Fallujah.

Images of the shooting, aired widely on Al-Jazeera television, have enraged Iraqis and other Arabs in the Middle East, prompting the US ambassador to Iraq John Negroponte to express regret for the shooting and promise that the marine involved would be held accountable under military law.

I disagree. The marine acted well within his rights. The battle for Fallujah has been particularly hard-fought; the insurgents have fought house to house, using snipers and booby-trapping the dead in an attempt to delay their inevitable defeat. The theory behind their action is simple; they do not believe the US has the stomach to endure a hard fight. They believe that if they fight ruthlessly, the US will quit Iraq.

Next time, I suggest the Marines dothis.

"Well now Mr Sites, we have a live one in the next room. We can do one of two things. I can shoot him in the head now to make sure he cannot harm any of us, or you can go over there, turn him over, and ask him if he wants to surrender. What's it's going to be Mr. Sites?

The best solution I've heard yet!

The USA's biggest enemy is not Islamofascism. Our worst enemy is the cancer of liberalism that lies within the fabric of Western society. They are starting to practice the axiom "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." The liberals are going to embrace the ways of the enemy more and more and would rather have the country defeated than to have a life that is managed with conservative values. A traitor is far more deadly than an enemy regiment.

"MSM knows as much about real battle as they do about fornicating." On second thought, these days they know quite a bit about the later. They're obsessed with it.

Sixty of the 100 mosques in Fallujah were being used to support the terrorists or as shooting positions. Why do we STILL pretend that they are above attacking?

If you are into reading about the young Marine who rid this world of a terrorist, you must see this. Has anyone seen this in the MSM? Not me.

I still haven't gotten over the disgust expressed at Free Republic when prison guards put womens panties over the heads of prisoners. I quietly cheered them on and was very happy that the millitary had finally found one of the most effective weapons against these animals, humiliation. We have to stop playing the Geneva Convention game and play by their rules; that is, kill the bastards at every oppotunity.
