Eye-grabbing church sign ignites debate
SUNNYVALE, Calif. An eye-grabbing church sign in Sunnyvale is inspiring debate over whether it's offensive to Muslims.
A sign in front of the Church of the Nazarene promotes a sermon titled, "Why I am not a Muslim."
While organizers say the talk tomorrow is intended to explain one Muslim's conversion to Christianity, some neighbors say the sign is insensitive.
Jay Keller, who lives nearby, says organizers can't be oblivious to the fact that it may be offensive to Muslims.
But the Rev. Donald Fareed, pastor of the San Jose-based Persian Ministries, says his talk aims to heal divisions between Christians and Muslims since the September Eleventh terrorist attacks.
Fareed was born a Iranian Muslim but says he converted to have a closer bond with God.

I hope this church has fire insurance. The Land of Freedom does not mean criticism of Satan...oh, d@mn, there I go again...I mean Allah.

These people really need our support, especially because they are speaking out about the disadvantages of their own cultural background.

It's as though Sept 11 was not offensive to the rest of us.

You're welcome. I hope they remain safe and confident in their Constitutional right to speak their minds about religion and morality in northern California.

Yea, I'm really worried about stepping on the toes of those who think we "infidels" should all be dead.
Those who hate this great Nation and all that it was based upon need to leave.

This is a free country. If the Muslims had their way, nothing bad would ever be said about them, under penalty of law - and there is a lot of "bad" that needs to be said.
Quite honestly, I can't think of hardly a "good" thing that can be said about this murderous, crackpot cult. It's mostly "bad".
