And Clayton Moore's Lone Ranger...don't forget Jay Silverheels as well..."Um Kemosabi...you have-um plan?"
Funny, I pick Ralph Kramden and Archie Bunker 2 and 1 respectively, and I'm not usually that in tune with popular culture. (Don't even recognize at least 1/3 of the names, never watched Star Trek or Friends, for instance.)
Isn't that 67. Jim Ignatowski?
Eddie Haskell? Uncle Tonoose? Baretta? Note that James Garner plays two of the characters on the list, Maverick and James Rockford.
Joe Friday's only number 25?
What a joke.
Agree about Lou Grant ... just a fantastic, well developed, multi-faceted character ... "There's a word I wanna use Mary and I can't cause that kid's here. You know what that word is Mary? BALDERDASH! That's not the word I had in mind, Mary!"
67. Jim Ignatowski
What a joke! No, Greatest American Hero;)
Buffy? Number 13?
What a PC joke.
I saw part of the special and Lou Grant was in it, though I don't know that he was top ten. The part that stunned me, though, was how old Ed Asner looks now. I didn't recognize him at first; it wasn't till he was saying "I" and "me" in reference to the character that I realized who he was. He's pretty old, but geez....
So it is...I never knew his last name...
Mad
I can hear him saying it.
That, and "You know, you've got spunk! { pause } I hate spunk!!"
Dan
Barney Fife
NUMBER ONE ==NAME FOR SOME NOT ALL POLICEMEN NOW
Wow, I forgot about those two. Gomer is definitely a top 20 character.
83. Vinnie Barbarino is the only sweathog I've noticed so far, but no Mr. Kotter.
Thanks for posting the list! I think Carrie Bradshaw is a bit of an exaggeration, to say the very least.....
Where's Clark Kent?
