Very good news. If the US government can just stay out of the way, private American companies will put together one hell of a space program that will put every other nation in the world to shame.

In August I gave a speech to a local Exchange Club regarding Commercialization vis a vis privatization of the space program. I suggested that certain business groups in the Dallas Ft Worth area might consider developing a passenger carrying version of SpaceShipOne. We could bring space tourists to the DFW area and pursue a stellar enterprise.

Six weeks later Rutan wins the X-Prize and Sir Richard Branson announces his Virgin Galactic plans. I was surprised at the many businessmen who didn't know of Armadilloaerospace right here in Mesquite TX! Rutan, Musk, Bigelow and Carmack, among others will inscribe thier names in future history books. When the Second Foundation comes looking for Earth maybe these names will have been imprinted on the positronic pathways of those Robots of Dawn, (thank you Issac Asimov)

Somehow when I think about this, I picture one of those inflatable birthday party moonwalk things just tumbling along in orbit with all these tourists bouncing around inside.

Probably the one with the big, green dragon's head on it.
