Soldiers, Iraqi Police nab suspect in raid
TIKRIT, Iraq -- An Iraqi citizen provided information that helped Task Force Danger Soldiers and Iraqi Police capture one individual during a raid near Khanaqin at 2:40 p.m., Nov. 24.
The Soldiers assisted Iraqi Police with the search of a residence where a man was detained and several weapons were found. The detainee was found with one RPK machine gun, 70 RPK rounds, six grenades, four anti-personnel mines, 30 rocket-propelled grenade propellants and two AK-47 magazines in his possession.
The detainee and weapons were transported to Multi-National Force facilities. No Soldiers were injured in the incident.
Our forces and Iraqi allies are constantly chipping away at the terrorists now. Even small victories like this are good signs.
but the other side will stand up and scream...he lied, he lied, he lied.
Has to happen in avalanche mode.
It seems like we have gone past the "tipping point" now.
Taking out Fallujah and continuing with the pincher moves driving the terrorists into a smaller and smaller area is paying big dividends.
One of the most effective tactics of the terrorists was terrorizing the local populations where ever the terrorists took up residence.
Now that the Iraqis feel safer and are turning more of these guys in, it is envitable that more and more of them will be rounded up and the Iraqis will then feel safer and safer and more of them will turn more of them in etc. etc. That is the definition of a tipping point.
