Our European cousins think we're a nation of thugs because we won't indulge cutthroats and assassins in the name of sophisticated cowardice and nuanced poltroonery.
Some of us, like the pituitary freaks who run up and down a basketball court in gaudy underwear and leap into the stands to beat up women and children, really are thugs.
Others are merely direct-action guys. George W. Bush saw his bodyguard in trouble with Chilean cops and, like any red-blooded president before him, jumped into the security scrum to pull him out of harm's way.

It's a GREAT article at JWR! Defintely worth reading! Thanks. :-)
Read the whole article. These Marines don't sound at all like Vietnam's heroic LTJG Kerry.
Great article...thx.
Excellent article!
Hey - we let kerry try to run for office, didn't we?
And I have devoted my life to exposing it to critical examination!
I signed the Marine's protest. I will not stand for the attack on our military, when they are doing their best TO ENSURE THEY DO NOT KILL ANYTHING BUT TERRORISTS, risking their own lives, taking more casualties as a result.
The easy way would be carpet bombing, as some airheaded Democratic talking head mentioned, which would indiscriminately kill.
Our President, His Entire Military Staff, would not take the easy way out, because it risked lives of foreigners of another nation we are trying to help.
Anyone that thinks different about this issue on the Marine's and any other military fighting person, NEEDS TO WALK IN THE SOLDIER'S SHOES before even thinking about doing less than rewarding his honor and bravery in the face of one of the most EVIL of enemies we have faced.
