Moslems are beginning to change their attitudes towards Islamic terrorism. Thats a major step forward in the war against terror. In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, opinion surveys throughout the Moslem world revealed that a third of Moslems thought the attacks were justified, and two thirds believed that no Moslems were involved. Moreover, two thirds believed that the attacks were carried out by Western intelligence services (those of Israel, the United States and Britain being most often mentioned.) This thinking led to the belief that the American war on terror was, in reality, a premeditated war on Islam. Yes, most Moslems believed that the Westerners would slaughter thousands of their own people just to provide an excuse for a war on Islam.
But there are two other aspects to this that often get overlooked. First, in most Moslem countries, the general attitude towards science and reason is subordinate to fantasy and speculation. A quick glance at Western media would remind us that fantasy and speculation is alive and well here as well. But in Moslem nations, fantasy and speculation is dominant in the news. This was long a secret known only to a few diplomats and sociologists (and the U.S. Army Special Forces, which has more Arab speakers than the State Department.) But the Internet now provides English language versions of media in Moslem nations, and this allows anyone to go see for themselves just how different the news reporting and interpretation is over there.
Finally, we have the Moslem clergy. These guys are the major source of hatred for the West in the Moslem world. The reason is simple. Most Moslems, especially young ones, when exposed to Western culture, begin to question their faith. Islam (which means submission) demands blind acceptance of Islamic religious practices and beliefs. Moslems believe that Islam is the final stage of the religion that originated with the Jews and was modified by the followers of Jesus. Islam is the end of the road, and there is no room for change.
Yeah, the Jews and Christians are armed to the teeth now!
It's relevent, sorry you took an exception to it. Jeez, it's not like I attacked every epileptic.
Talk about oversensitivity. Bit of PC thinking imo. I am not PC. Never will be. But I'll apologize.
Again sorry. (shrug)
You left out Muhammad's hallucinations (as in LSD) when he received his evil Allah messages.
i would say long nights tending sheep in the desert is another explanation.
I'm buying stock in batteries...plastics are dead:)
I didn't see it as any kind of slur against folks with epilepsy, either. Man! Some folks are so hypersensitive.
There used to be an awesome guy here on the FR who would post (before taglines): "A day without Clinton is like a day without leprosy."
A few posters shed some projectile tears in his direction for that.
All joking aside, they were manageable until Hiltary Clinton and Madeline Not So Bright shot their mouths off on their Mideast tours about womens rights, female voting and Allah forbid driving in Saudi Arabia.
That just pisses off all of the Islamic boys.
Unless your husband spends lots of time sitting in a cave listening to the voice of an arch angel called Gabriel I would say you have nothing to worry about.
I'll accept the apology, but I AM sensitive about it.
There are a LOT of dumb assumptions people have about epilepsy.
It's a thing that affects our family in a profound way.
NOTHING "PC" about setting the record straight.
Have a good and safe Happy Thanksgiving.
He does worse things than that.
He plays "Silent Hill".
;-)
Muslim chidren in Australia are coming home from 'kuffar' schools holding hands with 'kuffar' boy/girlfriends, asking for Christmas presents, chocolate Easter eggs...and watching cartoons (idol worship) the imams are preaching in the mosques that 'kuffar' society is polluting the 'purity' of islam and suggesting if the muslims here want to retain their 'purity' they should consider returning to an islamic country. That's the best news I have heard in a long long time. The imams know the danger of losing control over the next generation. Somewhere in the koran it states that mohammad said (promised?) if the infidel is exposed to islam for a period of 40 days the infidel will absorb islam and willingly convert. Sorry mooselimbs; mohammad lied about that as he lied about everything else.
Islam loses more mooselimbs in the West than it can ever hope to convert IMHO.
We have better hair.
Well, at the rate we are going, it will take until 2804 to do that. I don't see that happening.
Now if we could just figure out a way to 'kill' mohammad the rest would be easy.
As a self appointed activist...acting on behalf of the Heavenly Host...I must object...
It has not been established that the Archangel Gabriel ever spoke to Moe...but 'WE' contend it was a demon...a member of the 'unholy' hosts that was posing as a Heavenly host...and commited a hellacious fraud...
Moe's child bride...rather one of Moe's child bride's convinced Moe that a member of the Heavenly host was buzzing in his ear and giving him the Koran...Originally Moe himself thought he was being attacked by a demon and the buzzing in his ear was insanity..We believe Moe's original assumption was correct...and he should not have listend to his child bride who was also under the mediation of an unholy spirit.
imo
Seriously, without oil, even the shieks would be living in tents and herding goats.
When I was 11 years old, the front wheel dropped off My bike going down a bridge. I woke up looking at the oil pan on a Cadillac. I had intermittent siezures for almost 30 years. It could happen to Your Kid, it could happen to You. Many times it just goes away, or can be controlled by surgery or medication, unlike stupidity, which usually prevails throughout life. Don't give Me the "oversensitivity" thing, or the PC crap, it has nothing to do with either, IMO!
