I like Boustany, but Tauzin is running on his daddy's name and is way too neo-con for me. A socialist in republican's clothing is much like a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Boustany will need all the help he can get. The RATs virtually always win in this district.

I believe that Jimmy Hayes was the only Republican to win this district, only because he was an incumbent after he switched from RAT to Republican.

I have not seen any, but based on the election, if Boustany gets all of Thibodaux's votes, he is still shy of 50%. Also, based on the history of this district, no non-incumbent Republican has won this district, ever.

Well based on history no Republican has ever won a Senate seat from LA...at least not since reconstruction.

Charlie Melancon is the President of the Sugar Cane Grower's association and is no friend of the Bush administration.

Mount on the other hand may be hurt by her Dem primary opponent, Cravins, refusing to support her. Instead he has attacked her and the party because he feels that they chose her over him.

So, we can win both seats.
