Oh. My. God.
Pathetic.
Can you feel the Peace and Love just oooozzzeee from the Muslims???
Does this sound 90% similar to Jewish morality to you?
Weekly or bi-weekly?
Islam is evil.
Unfortunately, since these poor women can't even leave their houses, they can't do much of anything. This is an appalling situation. How can liberals defend these political systems?
These creeps make even the most knuckle dragging American male look positively enlightened.
And we all know that only a Jack@ss has a crooked body parts to extract >:>
Al-Shazli & Bibars better lay low for a few years if they don't want their heads handed to them, literally.
Start with bloody and violent scriptures, fold in idolatry, blend with false prophet - and you get Islam.
Absolutely mind-boggling. I suppose the one advocating a "light beating" would be the "moderate" in the group. It looks like one or two of them think wife beating is wrong because at times the wife has better judgement than the husband. These would be the "apostates" in the group. But the consensus seems to be that wife beating is ordained by Allah and so is the duty of the husband to ensure obedience and domestic tranquility.
When I read stuff like this I am suddenly made aware of just how blessed I am to live in the U.S. There is plenty of nuttiness here but at least it doesn't take the form of open and approved barbarism. There are beasts here who beat women but they are likely to end up in jail not hailed as dutiful husbands.
...the book of Allah says that they are inferior to men and their husbands have the right to scourge them if they are found disobedient (4:34). It advises men to take a green branch and beat their wives, because a green branch is more flexible and hurts more. (38:44). It teaches that women will go to hell if they are disobedient to their husbands (66:10). It maintains that men have an advantage over the women (2:228). It not only denies the women's equal rights, it decrees that their witness is not admissible in the courts of law (2:282). This means that a woman who is raped cannot accuse her rapist unless she can produce a male witness. Our Holy Prophet allows us to marry up to four wives and he licensed us to sleep with our slave maids and as many 'captive' women as we may have (4:3) even if those women are already married. He himself did just that.[A word of warning for those who may find their version of Quran is translated differently from those appearing in this article: Almost all the translators of Quran have deliberately tried to soften the harsh verses of Quran. Yusufali especially goes out of his way to twists the meaning of the words and hide the harshness of Quran. For example he translates the verse (38:44) that says "take a green branch and beat your wife" as "take a little green grass and strike therewith". Or when he translates the verse (4:34) that says "beat your wife" he cannot help it but to add the word (lightly) in parenthesis.]
Perhaps Sidney Blumenthal should consider converting to Islam.
Well, now. That explains everything!
{Al-Shazli: You claim that as a rule, the man is of better judgment?
Elias: Allah claims this.}
No, a man WROTE that Allah claims it.
TROP
Strikes again, and again, and again.............
The "rule of thumb" works for me.
The following are excerpts from a discussion of women's rights and wife-beating in Islam:
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri, member of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs:How can you claim that I don't honor my wife, while she cooks my food, bakes my bread, kneads my dough, washes my clothes and my children's? A woman nowadays tells her husband, "You must cook with me, bake with me, and knead with me."
Moderator: What is wrong with that?
Participant: She's his partner, his partner.
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri: Listen to this true story, Mrs. Nagwa. A guy went to ask for a girl's hand in marriage. He asked her father what she specializes in, and the father answered, "She has a degree in sociology, physiology, philology, psychology, and anthropology." He gave him a list. The guy asked if she knew how to run a household, and the father said: "No, there are servants." The young man said: "I need her to know cookology, doughology, loundryology, that's what I want. I don't want her to tell me, "I'm an anthropologist."
I use beatings [on my children], but symbolically. The same goes for women: "Admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them." Even the manner of beatings was determined. If I said it was barbarism, it would mean that the All-Knowing Creator of the World doesn't know. He's barbaric.
Moderator: No, we dont say that. We are talking about beatings
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri: It's the principle. There are beatings in the Koran and in the Sunna
Moderator: But Mrs. Farida spoke about "barbaric beatings" or "barbaric violence."
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri: No, she objected to beatings altogether.
Moderator: No, no, no, she did say so. She said, "Barbaric violence."
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri This means we're allowed to beat.
Moderator: Sir, you support beatings, of course.
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri: No, she said she was against beatings.
Participant: I oppose beatings, any beatings, barbaric or other
Moderator:What does this mean?
Sheik Yusouf Al-Badri : It means that we refer to the Koran as a book with mistakes that need to be fixed
such a peaceful religion.
