"Contrary to liberal BS the martial arts are not about meditation, growth, spiritual development, exercise, yadda yadda. They are the collective arts of warfare."
Speaking specifically about Tae Quon Do, it is about self discipline and self defense. Respect for others is integral to the teaching and it is not permitted to attack another person unless defending yourself or another innocent person.

It's not secret anymore. ;)
You're right. NOW is anti-American and their silence during Clinton's treatment of Paula Jones and others, really showed their true colors.

Yeah, that's interesting. NOW hasn't uttered a word. Not a single syllable of disgust, anger, or outrage.
Their hypocrisy is slowly being revealed. Like Oz, the curtain is falling away, and we are really seeing them for the first time.

Don't hold James to any standards of logic. James actually holds that GWB was directly responsible for the planes. Somehow GWB flew the planes into the WTC via remote control or something. Not kidding - he believes this. James also believes CNN is a right-wing news network. My industry is full of 'Jameses'.

Actually, now that I have regained some of my composure, I think some of the militant feminists may well benefit from paying a visit to the Arab word. Saudi Arabia would be a good start. It would be an interesting learning experience for all concerned.

How do these nitwits feel about shooting husbands? How do the beaten wives feel about it? Differently, I'll bet
To: PleaseNoMore
Agreed! A frying pan to a sleeping head would solve the problem instantly, but she would probably be put to death.
We are blessed, we have recourse that these poor women do not have. Wake up America before we lose it.

Light beatings are not excessive. They don't leave a mark, don't break bones, don't cause bleeding, and don't cause death. These are light beatings. With some women - nothing helps except beatings.
I think TerAyZaa must be part Arab woman.

How can liberals defend these political systems?
Either 1 of 2 ways.
(1) If the United States can be tied into it somehow, then that's the reason why. This is mostly used to defend suicide bombers, 9/11, etc. We're not under the United States's heel, so who are we to judge just how far these poor victims are pushed to the edges?
(2) If they can't tie it to the USA, like in this instance, they trot out the tired and false "Yeah, Muslims aren't so great now, but they're 1000 times better than how Christians used to be" argument. I saw this argument being used to defend Muslims' animosity towards Jews.

Yes... Except for the beatings it does reflect for instance a lot of the Haredim... You see, Jewish women can be browbeaten, their children are the property of the father etc...In cases of adultery this is even mandatory... And the rabbis can give the right to a man to remarry if his wife is barren.
That this is now rare is because of the difference of dina demalkut dina... This is part of the 10%
To: wideawake
"So, for example, while biblical, talmudic, and Muslim law all allow a man to marry more than one woman, Christian law does not, and so Ashkenazic Jewish men and women, who lived predominantly among Christians, were enjoined by Rabbeinu Gershom from polygyny while Sephardic Jews, who continued to live among Muslims, were not restricted in that way. Similarly, Sephardic rabbis, living among Muslims who permitted and even encouraged husbands to beat their wives, generally allowed Jewish husbands to do so as well, while Ashkenazic rabbis, especially those in Germany who were influenced by both Christian and Jewish pietism, resoundingly condemn wife-beating"
The sephardic tradition does condone wife-beating... Funny you didn't know that!
You really are very ignorant!
To: kalee
in all seriousness.
here in Nashville whenever I see a muslim family with the woman swathed in cover and following behind the man and all....I think to myself.
WITF are we allowing these folks here. This Statue of Liberty "huddled masses" ought to have limits.
We have a lot of Kurds here....they are more "modern" and the women do not appear as chattle.
*I like my wife to LEAD ME as a rule....preferably in Seven or Paper Denim and Cloth jeans that fit snuggish....with heels or boots naturally....I follow willingly.
