Presbyterian Church USA now joined by HRW in divesting in Caterpillar.
Human Rights Watch called on U.S. heavy equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. on Tuesday to stop selling heavy bulldozers to Israel because they are used to destroy Palestinian homes. The New York-based rights group said the bulldozers, which are armoured by Israel, were the army's "primary weapon" to raze Palestinian houses, destroy agriculture and ruin infrastructure such as sewage pipes and roads.

Biting the Hand that Feeds Them----The Presbyterian Church USA in their resolution to divest from corporations that do business with Israel have targetted Caterpillar.
At the same time the Presbyterian Church USA is coming to its membership with "hat in hand" asking for $40 million in their "Helping Hands and Helping Hearts" campaign.
When will the leftists realize that harrassment of Caterpillar does not help the stock price of CAT. The Presbyterian Church USA members who hold Caterpillar Stock directly or through funds and IRA's need to tell the PCUSA leadership bashing CAT is not consistant with their pleas for money.

I must have missed their sincere, heartfelt calls to boycott companies doing business in Sudan, Syria, Cuba, China, Zimbabwe and all the other genocidal tyrannies around the world. It can't be that they are just focusing on Israel alone, could it?

I wonder if Caterpillar stopped the sale of these dosers to Israel if Komatsu or even John Deere would also turn down the contracts. Why not boycott Freightliner too, they use them to haul the things to the site. Heck go after Goodyear too, and why not Exxon for the fuel it takes to run them. Caterpillar isn't responsible because they build the things any more than GM is when a drunk plows into someone else.
Idiots all.

I will write to stationery suppliers to stop selling paper to these idiots, Human Rights Watch.
Also to IBM and Dell to stop selling them computers.
Also to Ford and GM to stop selling them cars.
And Southern Bell Telephone to stop selling them phone service.
Wait a minute...
This could go on forever and is totally meaningless!
never mind...

My company just bought 8 of these. Maybe it will offset any of CAT's loss of sales, but I doubt there was any loss!

Presbyterian?Since when have they been anti-Semitic?
Oh, this is the sect that has gay and lezzie priests, right? I'd keep the men out of their children's church, fer sure.

Maybe I'll buy a new Caterpillar instead of that new super-sized SUV.
