Some of you are confusing science fiction with Horror. Aliens was science fiction. Texas chainsaw Massacre was horror.

The "best" horror movie of all time is easy.........HALLOWEEN! The end where the doctor shoots Michael and he falls out the window. Then Jamie asks him.
"Was that the Boogie man"? and he says"As a matter of fact...It was" Then they look out the window and he's gone!

Gives me chills to this day. Speaking of horror shows. I must no go and scrape the number 8 off my Cowboys jersey and iron on a number 7. I endeavor to preserver!

Some science fiction can be horror - and at least in my opinion, any sci-fi movie that is Ugly Nasty Acid Salivating Creature Killing Everything Versus People Who Can't Escape It can be considered horror ;0)

I dunno. At the very least, you'd have to call Alien a hybrid horror/sci-fi movie (maybe the first ever of it's kind). Aliens, the sequel is more properly a classic sci-fi action flick. Alien 3 returned to the horror aspect.

You have no idea how many arguments I've gotten into work about how good Alien 3 actually is. People just can't see past the (most excellent) action bonanza of Aliens.

"In space no one can hear you scream!"

Alien certainly qualifies as a horror film. The focus of the move was to scare you rather than wow you. The remoteness of space and the H.R. Geiger designs just added to the terror.
