As much as I agree with the "they still don't get it" rant... I'm a little tired myself of everybody - including people who are supposedly defending the red states - lumping us all together as good ol' unsophisticated folk. Yes, many of us are. But I wear a white collar. I have an MBA. I'm not a big fan of NASCAR. I do go to church, but could care less if anyone else does or not. Just as the "NASCAR Nation" stereotype misses 95% of "Red Staters", I believe the "Elitist Liberal" stereotype misses most "Blue Staters." We just get to see much, much more of their more vocal, obnoxious idiots. Much of this is getting a bit tiresome already.

You sound alot like me, I got an MBA (interestly enough, one of my teachers was also Bush's former professor). I'm not a Nascar fan, and I'm growing annoyed with this red state sterotype.

The Blue State sterotype is also overplayed, since there is a wide variety of lunatics who make up the left from conspiracy minded idiots who think secret societies are in charge to people who have inferiority complexes and owerwhelming envy at everyone who has a nickle more then them, to elitists at universities.

A warning for conservatives, let the left become a carnicture of itself and show its true colors so that it repulses America more and more, but lets not follow there example, as Napolean once said...

"When your enemy is making a mistake, do not be impolite and interrupt them".

Agreed! I'm highly edumacated myself and I'm also wondering where the simple conservative educated/intelligent movers and shakers are that simply understand reality, politics, and have values, ethics, and a solid moral background. It's as if they/we don't exist.

I agree. Let the left-wing continue to "not get it" on their own time, thank you very much.

Hi Sugarland, Memorial here. I will never get tired of hearing the elites say that President Bush was elected by mouth breathing, booger picking morons in flyover country because as long as they are saying that, it means they haven't figured it out yet. That's great!

No matter your degrees or the color of your collar a great segment of the effete elite consider you a rube just by the fact that you are from Sugarland, Texas. Just as a certain segment of society considers anyone from New York City a hopeless, hapless, unrepentant yankee.

I lived a number of years in the North. Born and raised in the south and now am smack in central Illinois and it is the same everywhere I've been. A great number of people have an image in their mind of what "others" are and nothing changes ever.

The writer certainly isn't describing the base of the Democrat party. The problem with the Democrats is the plantation mentality of their leaders and their previous success in keeping the downtrodden on the plantation. P.S. I'm sure it's killing my liberal Austin family to be labeled red-staters :)

Boy, isn't that the fact.
We must have went to different schools together. :)

But I don't see the media ever changing until and unless they literally go bankrupt.

I agree. NASCAR bores me (except the crashes and I can catch them on the 11:00 news). This idea that somehow the "intellectuals" have staked out the blue states is just wrong.

If you want to see erudite, just look at FreeRepublic. Want to find out if something is true or not? Post it here. Your facts, argumentation, spelling, punctuation and supporting materials will be subject to scrutiny that a Doctoral Thesis could not survive.

FreeRepublic represents true intellectualism in the USA (and beyond). Because our system of government was established by geniuses, it takes very intelligent people to comprehend it well enough to support it. I think more people in the US are intelligent than not. This is not about a small cadre of self-appointed intellegencia who wish to act as caretakers. This is about the USA as a whole being much, much smarter than the anti-American, pro-Socialist Left will admit to themselves. For if they admit to themselves that most people are as intelligent as them, they have no reason to live (thus the suicide talk we have heard about).

You have but to hear the average Leftist "intellectual" pout about "that's not democratic" to realize they don't even understand the first thing about our representative system and the checks and balances therein.
