Before 9/11, everybody knew CAIR was a Islamic Imperialist front and nobody took them seriously. After 9/11, the idiots in the MSM were searching for moderate Muslims to say mealy mouthed things so they could pursue the story of reconciliation and healing. CAIR was used to fit that bill.
This completely leaves aside the fact that talking about reconciliation and healing after 9/11 was completely asinine.
