IOWA CITY - Absentee vote counters in Johnson County will meet Monday in Iowa City to review 186 General Election ballots that have been found after their final vote count.
The Absentee Ballot Board says the ballots were discovered Friday with election materials being prepared for storage.
Some were found in boxes while others were found in a folder in the county auditor's office.

I agree.
Voting absentee sounds like one big friggin' recipe for disaster.
I've only done it twice...once in '84 and again in '98.
I definitely prefer to vote in person.

I will never understand in a million years how these absentee ballots "accidentally" get put into boxes and forgotten about.
"Oh yea, I forgot about those. I put them in a box back on October 25th."
To: newgeezer
The States of Washington and Oregon find them all the time. Oddly enough, there's always 200 more votes than are needed, and all of them Democrat. Sometimes there are 5000 or 6000 of them.
It is the darndest thing.

What's the over/under on how it takes the DUmmies to start screaming "Bush stole Iowa!"?
To: Mr.Atos
And, it will continue because since the election is over the outcry has stopped and the push to actually FIX the voting process so that fraudulent votes are not counted, illegal voters are not allowed to vote, and all legal correctly cast ballots are counted is over for the next two years.

We need a National reform of the Electoral System. this is a real priority for the next two years. We all have seen frauds, animal registrations/votes, cadaver registrations/votes, sectarian Jurisprudential Dicta by leftist Judges, vanished and or resurfaced votes and so on. Stop it please!!!

Who was in charge of the ballots in that County? A RAT or Republican?

The "misplaced" ballots are always - okay, 99.999% of the time - in 'rat precincts. Johnson County (U of I)... who'd a thunk it?

Who was in charge of the ballots in that County? A RAT or Republican? Johnson County is by far the deepest-blue county in the state of Iowa (thanks in no small part to the University of Iowa). Iowa City is our version of San Francisco, minus the tourist attractions.

From the second story,
'Fifty were in a box marked "rejected" but without rejection forms to back up that determination.'My guess is these were the poor saps who blackened the Republican straight-ticket oval.

Ruth C is absolutely right. We didn't challenge election fraud after the 2000 election, and we got a sequel to it in 2004. The year of the election is not the time to try to fix the problem. There are several states whose election systems are abjectly corrupted, with no balanced oversight by which to manifest a legitimate investigation. California, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, are accepted to be slimy. Why in hell is the Secretary of State in California still in that position after his actions during this election. Bill Bradbury was nearly as bad in his overt bias and corruption. No one, here (in Oregon) can tell me why Oregon initiated a exclusively 'mail-in' ballot for voting in the first place. It is now a completely concealed procedure for all practical purposes with respect to oversight - concealed within the grips of a 100% liberal bureaucracy the likes of which concealed Goldschmidt's perverted deviance for over 20 years. The election results are not certified for 10 days after the election, during which time the number of votes needed for the candidate or measure happens to appear. In many cases this year, the actual votes likely exceeded the ability to manufacture a majority on key issues. But, Multnomah County (Portland) holds a red state hostage with over a 70/30 margin... as does King County (Seattle) in Washington. I don't doubt they are strongholds of moonbat sensibility. But, the Federal Government needs to have a look at the process here to make sure those nearly unbelievable margins are indeed correct.
We have the opportunity in the next 4 years to take a hard look at the problem. If Congress won't investigate the issue (and why would they) then we need an independent open-source investigation across the board.

I'm with you, but nothing ever seems to be done. When you discuss any solution, the ones that would be workable to fix the problem get screamed down..oh no, no, no. WE can't have a national voters' card. Well, wake up to all those who scream against it, we already have a national ID, it's called a social security number! I want this fixed, I am so sick of my vote not counting, no matter if they actually count it or not. If I vote and an illegal and/or fraudulent vote is also cast, then mine is worth nothing!
