As an attorney for Hennepin County, Julius Nolen specialized in prosecuting violent offenders, mainly sexual assault and child-abuse cases. His wife, Laura, was a criminal lawyer for the city of Minneapolis.
Between them, they had 28 years of experience in criminal law for the city and county.
But they also used cocaine, according to drug investigators who arrested the Nolens and three others Friday during what appeared to be a quiet cocaine party at the couple's home in southwest Minneapolis.
"I know my career is over," Julius Nolen allegedly told officers after showing them a glass plate with two white lines of powdered cocaine on it, along with a rolled-up $5 bill.
As the search of his house continued, Nolen reportedly castigated an officer, saying, "Why aren't you guys out there catching some killers?"

how do you accumulate to prision life? Do you mean assimilate?
Why should the reporter mention party affiliation? Does this article have anything to do with politics? Do you expect party affiliation to be mentioned with every arrest? Why?
My impression from the article is that the defendant prosecutor is an elected official.
if/when Julius Nolen goes to jail, imagine the surprised looks when he meets some of those he put in jail.
get used to ..... open up new vistas..
