Newly minted independent MP Carolyn Parrish began her career as a teacher. And between her numerous juvenile attacks on Americans and George W. Bush, she did manage to teach Canadians a few things about how the country is run. And its not good.
Hidden away in her obnoxious rants towards Americans (and yes, Carolyn, "Americans" despite your weak after-the-fact efforts to limit your attacks to Bush and the U.S. government), Parrish has exposed Prime Minister Paul Martin for what he is--undoubtedly the weakest man (or woman) to ever hold the office of Prime Minister of Canada.
Martin, much like John Kerry who voted to fund the war in Iraq before he voted against it, tries to take both sides of each and every major issue in order to please as many people as possible. For example, he likes to portray himself as a devout Catholic, appealing to religious conservatives while coming out in favour of same sex marriage to please others. And while proclaiming his wish to improve relations between Canada and the United States, he allowed Parrish to continue her anti-American vitriol, lest he offend his large contingency of anti-American Liberal supporters. The reaction of Martin to Parrishs "coalition of idiots" comment was to say that it was "unacceptable". If Canada were ever attacked by jihadists it is easy to visualize Fearful Leader with his mouth open, saying that flying airplanes into buildings was "unacceptable". . . . .

a very good example of what you would have gotten if kerry was in ....... another spain waiting to be plucked..... funny isnt it they have not deciced to pluck it ..... its not worth it...
We get it already. Canada hates itself, the US, courage, morality, and justice.
How novel, how unique.
Of course Canadians re-elected Paul Martin because he would stand up to the dreaded United States. It turned out he couldn't even stand up to a motor-mouth back-bench MP from his own party.
I'd say that a lot of the hate-Canada crowd wants the attention from what I see posted here on FR.
Sometime, if it were possible, we should try to find a way of searching the frequency of the very worst anti-Canada posts, and see if there was a sudden spike following Parrish's earlier remarks. An elected representative speaks for the people who elected it.
As an American who read her raves, I felt great anger.
As one whose family comes from the Maritimes, I felt shame.
When someone says, "xxxx-I Hate those Bastards", the bastards are going to hate back.
A lot of the Canada bashing posts, I feel, were not called for- Some were ignorant and abusive. Canadians are not a "Hateable" people at all, IMO, with the possible exception of the Quebec denizens.
But that said, I really hate Parrish's guts, and enjoy the feeling! :-) It's almost a shame to see her go- I feel like a dog whose chew toy has been taken away.
Parrish ... what a bitch, huh? Yeah, I hate her as well as the other libs. As an aside, I'm a Maritimer.
Are you the Newfie on here?
We are one of the few families from Novie and the Isle of Shoals NOT named "MacDonald!! Hahaha.
No, I'm not from the rock ... I'm a stinkin' mainlander from NB. : )
No offense meant, but St. John's really wasn't that great an idea for a place to build an Airport, unless someone likes IFR. I was up there the one time when a windstorm came though and tossed everything around. Had to stop there enroute to Novie. Landed at Trenton, NS, rented a car from the guy who ran the airport. Named MacDonald. Of Course.
Your country sh*ts on me continuously. It pisses me off(as is the desire).
Predictably, this shocks and confuses you. Also predictably, you immediately plead victim status, and turn reality 180 degrees.
This is, and has always been, Canada spewing hatred for the US. Not the other way around.
"The hate-Canada crowd" indeed. You are, after all, well represented by a government of like-minded people.
