This would be a vanity, except it's not about me. Plus, I know that 99.4% of you are Jeopardy! junkies, and may appreciate the information in this article.

Thanks for the update. Good luck to Kem. I hope she's not just fodder to Ken Jennings cannon, or whatever BIG GUN takes him down.

He's a nice man, a brilliant man, he may be the greatest man who's ever lived, but I just wish he'd GO AWAY!

I thought it was Peter Jennings' job in Jepordy.

Bummer.

Congrats to Kem on making it thus far, and don't get discouraged if you have to wait a long time for the phone call. It was just a couple of weeks shy of one full year between when I tried out and when Jeopardy! called to say they wanted me on the show. I'm glad I didn't have to face Ken Jennings. In a bit of personal trivia, the returning champion in my first game--who I knocked off--was Kevin Olmstead, who later went on to win $2.18 million on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Jennings recently passed him to become to all-time winningest game show contestant.

I used to think that I could do pretty well on Jeopardy!, maybe even win for a few days in a row. I even tried out for the show years ago, missing selection by an eyelash. But watching this guy play a couple of times has pretty much convinced me that my going up against him would be like a Pop Warner team taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ken Jennings is a force of nature.

I noticed his strategy. When he picks a category he starts in the middle values. He answers a few in a row and takes all the high value ones. If the other contestants get to pick, they get the lower value ones and can't catch up to him.

Hope she does better than Cliff.

REMEMBER. "Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?" is NOT an acceptable answer...

Hey Billybob. What fun! I'd just like to try out myself. Maybe someday.

The trade press says the show where he loses has already been taped, and will air in about a week.

I'll always wonder if the producers finally got sick of his run and ever-so-slightly sabotaged his button.

I stopped watching Jeopardy moths ago. I couldn't stand the arrogance of Ken Jennings!

Yeah, he's good but he is also a fast "clicker." My daughter was on the winning Academic League (High School Jeopardy with harder questions!!). She pressed the button fast and got the first chance to answer the question. That's what a lot of it comes down to, who presses the button first.

I'll be sure to watch Jeopardy this week to see the demise of Ken Jennings.

Oh dear, flame away...

I tried out for "Jeopardy" in 2000, passed the 50-question test, then bombed in the trial game (I kept forgetting to phrase in the form of a question and kept biting my lip--nervous habit) and had absolutely NO interesting, funny stories to tell about myself (nervousness again!) I knew I wouldn't get called, and I wasn't. ("Jeopardy" called me to come to the tryout when I was in the hospital, one day after having a baby--so I'd had lots of sleepless nights, too!)

I'll try again, but only after this Ken is GONE! The man is a machine!

Congratulations to Kem for getting nearly to the end. That in itself is an accomplishment!

We are not fans of Jeopardy!, but having Kem on as a contestant is one thing that will spur us to watch!

Keep all of us non-contestants informed on the when, etc., so we can cheer on the new "Nice Guy"!

Anyone remember the Cheers episode where Cliff got on the show?

Cliff's final Jeopardy response was "people who have never been in my kitchen." That response became a category on the actual show.
