VIVA LA REVOLUCION BUSHO! There's an insurgent in town and like the protypical Texas Cowboy of the frontier, he refuses to fit in or be tamed by Washington. Great Fred Barnes piece. Enjoy!

But he's held fewer state dinners than any president in memory. Those state dinners cost the tax-payers money , if you want a state dinner pick up the tab you cheap a$$ and dont forget to tip or you'll be arrested if its in NY.

If I were GWB and I were reading this, I would repent the error of my ways and stage a huge Texas barbecue on the White House lawn, with lots of rare beef and hot Texas chili and make it plain to all of the media (especially the fruitcakes who eat tofu and don't wear leather) that attendance was not optional if they ever wanted to be able to ask another vile left-leading question at a press conference.

[The Senate has] become more Republican in recent years but is still center-left in ideological tilt. But it's liberal in a reactionary way, passionately opposing conservative change.

Maybe if red states remain in a strong majority for a few more election cycles, the GOP side of the aisle will begin to consider the good of the country in their decision making.

And maybe I'll win the lottery this week.

That blast was followed three days later by one from Mr. Gergen. Having worked for three Republican presidents and a Democratic one, taught at Duke and Harvard, and worked in the media in Washington, Mr. Gergen reliably embodies establishment thinking. He is cautious. He was leery about the Iraq war. Now, he wrote in the New York Times, "the immediate danger" facing Mr. Bush is "hubris," or overreaching. He likened Mr. Bush's plans to FDR's attempts to pack the Supreme Court and purge Southern Democratic senators. FDR famously failed.

And there-in lies Mr. Gergen's problem. HE HAS NOT BEEN ASKED TO "ADVISE" PRESIDENT BUSH. He's Pi$$ed.

Thats one reason why he was reelected. He recognizes that business as usual isn't working.

"One tux a term," a White House official said. "That's our idea of outreach to the Washington community."

Sounds about right to me.

D.C. certainly needs to be stood on it's head and be reminded that they are the hired hands of the citizen.

"VIVA LA REVOLUCION BUSHO!"

Up the revolution here too. What I think colloquial DC hates is Bush doesn't have a lot of meaningless, expensive nice dinner parties with free food, booze and schmooze all night like Clinton.

W made a point that he isn't one of them.

W refuses to be assimilated into our decadent, corrupt and declining culture.
