Some communities have exhibited this trend more dramatically than others. For instance, the affluent town of Plano, TX was hit especially hard: in the past three years, they have buried 19 young people because of heroin. Back in the late 90s (97-99) there were a string of highschoolers that OD'd on heroin. 11 in 97 alone. As far as I know of the situation, it is still going strong.
A bit coincidental, don't you think, that the drug of choice for a very affluent suburb is one of the worlds most expensive. Over 500 bucks for a gram of heroin. Makes sense to me.
