I suspect it was a firearm he was accustomed to and could afford . . . considerably cheaper than even a workhorse Model 700 or Model 70. Ammo’s cheaper, as well.

It's people like Mr. Vang that make me scared for rifle season to start! (which did today!) My husband has gotten into a confrontation with some who seem to think his (DH)tree stand is public property, even though they are trespassing on private, posted property! They had the gall to get upset with my husband, after he told them to leave!!

Actually, it's just the type of weapon one would buy when arriving in America after being under a dictatorial government though isn't it? I know I'd be looking for a pretty big gun after everything these people have gone through... BUT - it doesn't excuse the fact that this man killed people. It doesn't matter where he came from in the end.
